Suburban Renewal
This is an illustrative rendering of the proposed redevelopment of N4th Street in Williamsburg, walking distance from where we live, and where Lillet's band's practice space is located.
lifted from the New York City Department of City Planning Greenpoint-Williamsburg Land Use and Waterfront Plan
Upon seeing this Lillet asked, "We're moving to Toronto?" This, of course, reminded me of Peter Ustinov's description of Toronto as "New York run by the Swiss."
But this looks to me more like Cupertino.

Been to NY...been to TO.....I like to think of NY as TO run by someone with too little time on their hands to do it all so he just sits in a room watching the Price is Right and promising to get it done tomorrow, right after he runs to the deli.
Lillet nailed it! Why can't local areas maintain their own style and charm, and why does everythihng have to look all gentrified and icky, you know?
And, thanks for the warning about Cupertino...
